  1. Any suggestions for a tour in the Montreal/Quebec Canada area between 12/21/24 and 12/26/24 to see the northern lights and have a photo taken of us with the lights in the background?? We’re staying in Montreal but want to plan to go up to Quebec City during our stay.

    • Montreal and Quebec City are fantastic destinations but are not ideal for viewing the Northern Lights due to light pollution and their southern location. To increase the chances of seeing and photographing the aurora borealis during your stay, I recommend the following:
      1. https://www.viator.com/ is a good resource for finding the tours you are interested in.
      2. Travel to Northern Quebec: Consider a guided Northern Lights tour to areas like Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean or further north. These regions have darker skies and better opportunities for aurora viewing. You might find specialized tours departing from Quebec City.
      3. Stay Flexible: The aurora depends on solar activity and weather. Use apps like Aurora Forecast to monitor Aurora conditions and cloud cover in real time.
      4. Hire a Professional Photographer: Some tour operators offer packages in which a professional photographer captures your photo with the Northern Lights, ensuring a memorable experience.
      5. Guided Tours from Quebec City:
o Search for companies offering excursions focused on Northern Lights viewing.
o Some tours may include snowshoeing or dogsledding for a whole winter adventure.
While staying in Montreal or Quebec City, you can still enjoy their charming holiday atmosphere and focus on planning a day or overnight trip for aurora hunting.
